Over half a century ago, Cape Cod was a sleepy, summer hideaway. The pace was languid and printing needs were simple. Charles Thompson, Sr. and his wife first met those needs from a shop in their basement and later their garage. In 1939 all that was required to be a successful printer was a press, competitive prices, plenty of man-hours and the desire to excel.

Now cell phones, PCs and the World Wide Web instantly link Cape Cod to the world as this area has evolved into an active year-round community where tourism is only part of a complex commercial network.

From that print shop in the basement, Thompson's Printing has also evolved to the present-day 12,500 square foot location. Now, two more Thompson family generations understand that success still requires state-of-the-art equipment, competitive prices, plenty of man-hours and, always, the desire to excel.

The Cape's printing needs have changed dramatically over the years. At Thompson's we service those needs in every department with the right equipment, training and experience.

Our art and "pre-press" departments' familiarity with the latest graphic techniques enable us to create new graphics, or simply modify existing artwork. And with our graphic design software and computers we can design a distinctive and professional product ready for the press.

Thompson's presently operates two Heidelberg offset presses capable of  producing high volume, single or multi- color, and four-color process printing.  Our smaller offset presses and our

letterpress department make printing small jobs quick and economical.

With programmable paper cutting and folding, a choice of equipment which  collates, gathers,  stitches and trims, our bindery department  provides the latest technologies to complete our client's job.

Also, because of our large warehouse we are able to aid our business accounts by maintaining a supply of special stock for clients and storing printed work for those who may not have the space. This storage space also allows us to purchase paper at quantity discounts, resulting in printing estimates that fit within your budget.

Besides offset printing, our commercial copiers provide clean, accurate and inexpensive copies fast. We have the capabilities of reducing and enlarging onto different weights, colors and sizes of paper stock. Also our Xerox Engineering Copier will create our high quality prints on a single sheet of paper up to 36" x 48" wide from your blueprints and translucent originals to meet your deadline.
